Furnace wont ignite
Sooner Home Services
A furnace that will not light is usually the ignitor, the flame sensor, or a safety switch that has tripped for a reason worth finding.
Check the filter and the condensate drain first – both trip safeties on high-efficiency units. A cracked hot surface ignitor is visible. If the unit lights and dies within seconds, clean the flame sensor. If you smell gas at any point, leave the building and call the utility from outside.
